Support Scouting with a Day of Fun at the Crossroads of America Council Sporting Clays Event!
Calling all clay target enthusiasts and Scouting supporters! The Crossroads of America Council is hosting its annual Sporting Clays event, a day filled with friendly competition, delicious food, and the chance to give back to Scouting in central Indiana.
Here's what you need to know:
- Date: Friday, September 25, 2026
- Location: Izaak Walton League in Kokomo, Indiana
Event Format & Schedule
Choose between two available flight times. All shooters are invited to join us for lunch and the midday program.
- Morning Flight
- Check-in: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
- Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Midday (All Shooters)
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Program: 12:00 p.m.
- Afternoon Flight
- Check-in: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Start Time: 1:30 p.m.
More than just a competition:
This event is not just about hitting clays; it's about supporting the Crossroads of America Council and the important work they do with young people in central Indiana. Proceeds from the event go towards funding Scouting programs that provide character development, leadership skills, and outdoor experiences for countless Scouts. Your contribution helps provide top-notch range and target activities education, training, facilities, and instructor training for these programs.

While still in the planning stages, this year's Cub Scout Camp experience is scheduled for October 3rd at Camp Krietenstein. The Friends of Camp Krietenstein is partially underwriting the event to help keep costs down for those registering to attend.

District Committee Meetings and Roundtables
The District Committee has opted to host Roundtables on a quarterly, rather than monthly basis.
The quarterly Roundtables will be held on Wednesdays as that's the day of the week where the fewest unit meetings seem to occur, with the first quartly meeting scheduled for August 12 at Camp Wildwood.
While open to all adult leaders across the District, we do ask that each Unit send at least one representative to the quarterly meetings.
